You sure it's actually an oscillator? I have some units that could be
like you describe that are just thermostat-controlled ovens for
crystals. The oscillator is separate, for the ones I have. Guess you
could find out more: check the resistance between each crystal-socket
pin and each of the octal base pins (and perhaps if two of the crystal

Could be , I came by this part in '73. There is a pretty good chance
it was from a Lo band VHF unit.

GE two way radios had ovens like that in the 1970s or earlier.

I have what appears to be a temperature stabilized oscillator made by
CTS knights inc Sandwich IL Ithas an octal base appears to take two
crystals Part# 900-0196. This is about all I know about it. Any other
info would be appreciated.

I need the assembly and alignment manual(s) for the Knight Kit Star Roamer
II and the Lafayette BCR-101 receiver. These solid state receivers are of
1970's vintage. Good clean copies and or clear scans would be appreciated.

Colin Horrabin, G3SBI, has just updated information on the AOR AR7070
receiver, that is expected to be put into production soon, probably as

I haven't tried it myself (yet) but I heard that it may be possible to
pay the small usage fee for several years in advance. That would cut
down on wire fees as banks typically charge them for every single
transaction regardless how small. Not sure how PayPal would work, I
don't have that.
